Hi all, Despite never having heard the surname Sproul before now, my Dads YDNA results confirm I am of this family! This is exciting as I have been researching my family tree for over 20 years and it has given me a whole new area to look into ! As far as I can tell, none of my Fathers direct male line have ever been anywhere other than Scotland so I am particularly interested in the Scottish Sprouls (of all name spellings!) Without links to any particular family at present, I am starting to compile a picture of the various Sproul families in and around Renfrewshire around 1700-1800.
