I am in possession of a sterling silver blood letting kit engraved with the medical staff and serpent, and above it what looks like 2 medicine vials. On the bottom is inscribed "M. Sproull Nr Craigs" (Nether Craigs near Paisley). Inside are various cutters and probes, one bearing the inscription "Princess Charlotte died" and on the reverse "06 Nov 1817". Family lore has it Matthew was a doctor; however I can find no reference to substantiate this, nor if he was present during delivery/death of Princess Charlotte.
